Cosmetic and Laser Medical Centre has an experienced team. On this page you will find a biography of our senior team members:
Dr Garth Dicker, MBBS (Melb) BMedSci PhD
Dr Dicker has been working in the fields of laser medicine, cosmetic medicine and
phlebology (vein treatments) for over 20 years. He has an extensive research background
with undergraduate (BMedSci) and post graduate (PhD) research degrees. Dr Dicker
was one of the first medical practitioners to begin laser treatments in Australia,
starting with the treatment of birthmarks using copper vapour laser technology in
1986.
Dr Dicker continues to regularly update on new procedures and techniques from overseas
to ensure the Cosmetic & Laser Medical Centres are able to offer their patients
the latest available technologies.
Dr Dicker has achieved fellowship status with the American Society of Lasers in
Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society
of Phlebology and been a member of the American College of Phlebology (ACP) since
1991.
Dr David MacDonald, MB BS (Monash)
Dr MacDonald has a wealth of experience in Cosmetic medicine. Dr MacDonald has been
the Director of clinical services at the Cosmetic & Laser Medical Centre since 2003.
Dr MacDonald has a specialised interest in treatments for scarring and pigmentation
including the use of fractional laser technologies, in particular the FRAXEL laser.
Dr Patrick Lyons, MB BS (Melb) FRACS
Dr Patrick Lyons is a vascular specialist who has held numerous hospital appointments
including Head of Vascular Surgery at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Dr Lyons has a particular interest in the treatment of venous diseases notably varicose
vein disorders. He is an expert in all vein treatment technologies including surgery,
laser, radiofrequency and injection (sclerotherapy) techniques.
Dr Lyons is a longstanding Fellow of the Australian College of Surgeons and is also
a Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology.
Monika Jakubczyk, B HlthSc
Monika is our senior dermal therapist who has a vast knowledge of skin analysis
and skin care.
Monika has extensive experience in microdermabrasion, skin peels, IPL and laser
treatments.
Monika has a reputation for achieving remarkable results in difficult and challenging
cases of acne and pigmentation.
Monika has a Bachelor of Health Science degree specialising in skin and laser treatments.
Laura Perri, B HlthSc
Laura is a dermal therapist with a Bachelor of Health Science degree in laser and
skincare treatments.
Laura has a wealth of experience in laser and IPL treatments. Laura has a particular
interest in skin rejuvenation techniques including photorejuvenation with IPL, laser
toning with Revlite technology and combination approaches such as power peels and
laser peels.
Katy Wallace, RN Div1
Katy Wallace is a very experienced Cosmetic Nurse who specialises in a range of
non-surgical cosmetic treatments including wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, lip
enhancement and mid face volumisation. Katy has trained extensively overseas and
in Australia with world renowned Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists and has over
13 years experience in the field of Cosmetic Medicine. Katy enjoys the relationships
she builds up with patients by listening to their concerns, advising on treatment
options and helping them achieve great results.
