Centella Asiatica Gel

Appearance

A clear honey coloured gel. Centella Asiatica is a tropical plant whose leaves contain a most significant revitalising power. The Centella extract is renowned in dermatology for its regenerative healing properties.

Key Ingredients

Centella Asiatica Extract – Chemical analysis made on Centella extracts have disclosed that the main active principles were triterpenic saponies.

Glycerine – moisturising, decreases the loss of water. Renders the skin more supple and less rough.

Application

Apply day and night under day cream or body milk.

Clinical Uses:

(1) Healing activity

The properties of Centella Asiatica have long been known in its native areas. In India for instance, it was used for a quicker healing of wounds. At the Cosmetic & Laser Medical Centre we often use Centella post laser treatment to reduce skin reaction and accelerate healing time. Minor skin problems can often benefit from being treated with Centella extract-based products.

(2) Anti-inflammatory activity

Centella is traditionally used as an anti-inflammatory treatment, particularly for eczema, but also for minor itchings and insect bites.

(3) Stimulation of collagen synthesis

Centella asciatica has been clinically proven to provoke an increase of collagen synthesis by fibroblasts. It is one of the most effective products that can be used during pregnancy to prevent stretchmark formation. It is also used to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restoring a youthful looking glow to the skin.
