Solariums and Cancer

The International Agency for Research and Cancer (IARC) which is a section of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has reported unquestionable evidence that UV emitting tanning devices cause melanoma of the skin and of the eye.

Risk for skin melanoma increases by 75% when tanning devices are used before 30 years of age.  Risk of ocular melanoma is also increased among users of tanning devices.
