What is the Gentlelase?

 

The Gentlelase system is a flash lamp-excited alexandrite laser system.

What is the Gentlelase used for?

The Gentlelase is a dedicated hair removal laser system with the large beam size of 18mm and fast repetition rate of 1.5pulses per second.  It is the fastest hair removal laser.  Alexandrite lasers are widely regarded by medical experts as the gold standard in hair removal lasers.  For more information see Hair Removal Men/Women.

How does the Gentlelase work?

The Gentlelase delivers pulses of laser energy at a wavelength (755nm) that is absorbed preferentially by the melanin pigment in hair follicles.  If enough laser light is absorbed a thermal effect is produced and if enough thermal damage is produced the hair follicle is destroyed.
